Marlène Ginouvier
An entrepreneuring woman
By Mathilde Hingray
Prix Coup de cœur / Heart's Choice Award
Marlène wanted to take an eco-responsible approach to textiles, to respect people and the environment. She set herself the goal of recycling as much dead fabric stock as possible. She recovers exceptional yet unused fabrics from manufacturers, factories, clothing workshops, and ready-to-wear or haute couture brands. She then uses the carefully selected, high-quality materials in her creative process, and in doing so combats waste. She also favours short production circuits with her transparent, win-win approach.
Maison Bazélie
This Aix-based brand presents a high-end line for children aged 3 to 8, focusing on ethics and sustainability. The brand’s commitment to a more responsible approach helps prevent waste and gives a second life to unused fabrics. The brand produces quality pieces in organic cotton gauze and natural materials that are easy to wear and extremely comfortable. Its unisex clothing ranges allow children to express themselves in their own style, with no constraints or stereotypes. We love the “Sacha” unisex coat; it’s the perfect combination of refinement and practicality. The details and finishes are beautifully crafted. Elegant fashion that benefits everyone… and the planet!
