Julien Coffinier
A New Leader for Marseille Provence Airport
Since October 3rd, the board of Marseille Provence Airport has welcomed a new president. At 44, Julien Coffinier succeeds Philippe Bernand for a five-year term. A graduate of ESCP Business School in 2003, Julien Coffinier began his career in telecommunications in the UK before moving into financial analysis for Cora and Match supermarkets. In 2008, he joined Aéroports de Paris (now Groupe ADP), managing the financial balance of Paris airports and leading strategic international initiatives, including the acquisition of TAV Airports in Turkey in 2012. Promoted to deputy director of international activities in 2013, he spearhweaded ADP’s global expansion, strengthening partnerships with key players like Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport. In 2017, as director of the Asia-Pacific region, based in Hong Kong, he oversaw all ADP activities, including architecture, engineering, concessions, investments, and services. In 2020, he became president of Zagreb International Airport before taking the top executive role at the airports of Nosy Be and Antananarivo in 2021 (which won the 2023 Airport Council International award for “Best Airport under 2 Million Passengers in Africa”). His appointment aligns with a new strategic plan aimed at boosting air connectivity, improving customer experience, and accelerating the airport’s energy and ecological transition. A great challenge ahead!
