The Domaine des Collettes in Cagnes-sur-Mer was the happy home of painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, who here shot numerous films, unfortunately long misunderstood. Heading to Saint-Paul you can identify scenes from Mission to Tokyo (1966), which featured the Fondation Maeght as a backdrop. In Billy Zane's Big Kiss (2003) we recognise the Café de la Place's terrace and boule ground, and of course the Colombe d’Or in Mervyn LeRoy's Moment to Moment (1965). And did you know that the fantastic Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants (2013), a full-length animated 3D film adored by young and old alike, was filmed in the Mercantour national park?
