At La Turbie, the Gallo-Roman Trophy of Augustus is a favourite for car chase starts: Priceless with Audrey Tautou and Gad Elmaleh, Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, and of course the masterful To Catch a Thief starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly and the Fifties Riviera. Notable locations include the immensely luxurious Villa Leopolda on Villefranche's seafront and the Darse harbour 1980s-style seen in Never Say Never Again with Sean Connery and Kim Basinger. Head to Roquebrune-Cap-Martin for the location of an iconic scene in Ocean's Twelve with George Clooney and Brad Pitt, in the Sylvio de Monléon tunnel. The Vista Palace hotel, which has one of the finest views in the region, featured in Les Tuche with Jean-Paul Rouve, while Heartbreaker with Vanessa Paradis and Romain Duris was filmed in Monaco, mainly at the Monte-Carlo Bay, and in Menton the Saint-Michel basilica's esplanade hosted Nicole Kidman in Grace of Monaco, which opened this year's Cannes Film Festival.
