« Caroline Trucco. Oui, mais des mots étendards »
As early as the 1960s, when studying the wealth of Amerindian legends, the anthropologist Claude Lévi-Strauss largely contributed to having Western white men face their responsibilities by denouncing how they had written history through the sole prism of progress. That awareness has given rise to numerous exhibitions, including this one by Caroline Trucco. Through statuettes, spears and masks, the visual artist denounces the violence in which museums have become accomplices and opens up other more sensitive and poetic avenues through her encounters in West Africa.
