Behind its imposing 19th-century frontage, the Côte d’Azur’s most artsy hotel has over the years had some 30-odd guestrooms decorated by contemporary artists. Following in the footsteps of Ben, Noël Dolla, Aicha Hamu, Henri Olivier and the like, Jean Dupuy was given free rein to create a new artistic cocoon. So room 55’s white walls are now inscribed in colourful letters with the word plays and anagrams that this leading light of the Nice art scene so often uses in his work.
