This competition looks for creativity and innovation. In September it named two joint winners who had exhibited at Now! Le Off, the Paris Design Week's fringe event at the Docks – Cité de la Mode et du Design.
Aurélie Hoegy - Dancers
This original, nonconformist young designer convinced the jury with her project in which she seeks to disturb balance in order to develop a new freedom of expression, in an artistic approach to design. She considers it her mission to question the conventionality and prejudices within our society. Dancers is a collection of chairs in soaked and dried cotton and latex, exploring a new perspective very different from that of classical pieces and their everyday use.
Jules Levasseur - Projet S
This young creative draws on industrial design and processes in thinking up his pieces. He hopes to create a social and societal impact through design and production. With Projet S, in collaboration with Petrus, he makes his mark by using an industrial material that symbolises elementary construction: corrugated iron. Employed for its mechanical, plastic and rhythmic qualities, it gives industrial production its own identity.
