From July 16 to 18, the Glanum Festival returns for its 11th edition in the exceptional setting of the ancient city of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Among temples, columns, and Gallo-Roman remains, three evenings of concerts invite you to experience a dialogue between heritage, nature, and music. This year, the artistic director Mathieu Herzog The festival is themed around the Night, explored in all its nuances: mysterious, poetic, dreamy, or flamboyant. For the occasion, some of the greatest personalities of the classical and operatic scene will perform under the stars, including Philippe Jaroussky, Marina Viotti, Neïma Naouri or the trumpeter Romain Leleuaccompanied by the Appassionato Orchestra and the ensemble Les Accents.
The program will open with the splendors of Italian Baroque music, featuring Vivaldi and Pergolesi, before a second evening where classical, jazz, and film music will blend in a tribute to the many facets of the night. The festival's highlight will be an original creation revisiting... West Side Story in a contemporary symphonic version performed by Neïma Naouri and the Appassionato Orchestra. All this in an immersive acoustics specially designed to enhance this archaeological site, one of the most remarkable in Provence.
