The national museum regularly invites contemporary artists to present a work or an installation, as is the case here with Pierrick Sorin. The videographer, director and scenographer has designed a spectacular and offbeat piece called Le Balai mécanique, recalling the experimental film of the same name directed by Fernand Léger in 1924. In his optical theatres, Sorin likes to bring his burlesque double – a miniature hologram – to life on handcrafted sets composed of real and fictitious objects. Another great find at the museum is the monumental piece spanning 8.70 meters in length entitled Le Transport des forces, created by Léger in the context of the Front populaire.
