High above Calvi, there's an address that has never needed to reinvent itself to remain desirable. For over thirty years, Villa Calvi has reigned supreme amidst three hectares of Mediterranean gardens designed by Bruno Dumoustier, a landscape architect trained at the School of Versailles, with the 12th-century Genoese citadel and the peaks of Monte Grosso as its horizon. A family institution, it was founded by Jean-Pierre Pinelli, a local who returned from his years in Africa out of nostalgia, convinced that Corsica deserved a hotel on par with Saint-Tropez or Marrakech. Since 2019, his children, Marie and Antoine, have joined the adventure alongside their mother, Marion, each bringing their own unique touch: business development for one, a veritable art gallery for the other.
For this is indeed one of the hotel's most unexpected features: a 700-square-meter space dedicated to contemporary art , born almost by chance fifteen years ago when Czech guests simply asked to hang a few canvases. Today, around ten artists exhibit there permanently, between Julien Marinetti's floating ducks on the main pool and the XXL canvas by street artist JonOne, serving as a prelude to the stay. The 48 rooms and suites, as well as the two private villas, range from 35 to 600 square meters, each designed as a personal retreat, far removed from the impersonal atmosphere of a grand hotel.
In terms of well-being, the Villa has made a clear choice in recent years: to become a true sanctuary for both sports and pleasure. It boasts five swimming pools, including a 25-meter indoor lap pool, a tennis court, aquabiking and yoga classes, and, most notably, the very first private Pilates studio in France, where Marion Pinelli has created a comprehensive wellness routine centered around group sessions and personalized Reformer classes. The spa, entirely glass-enclosed and overlooking the maquis shrubland, uses the French brand ALAENA for its treatments, while Marion has even developed her own line of perfumes with 100BON, inspired by walks in the rain or under the blazing sun, and infused with immortelle and eucalyptus.
In the kitchen, it's Fabio Volontè's turn, the executive chef with experience at Gordon Ramsay's Versailles, L'Olivo in Capri, and Pierre Gagnaire, to infuse the cuisine with a contemporary Mediterranean identity, blending Corsican, Italian, and French products, natural fermentations, and citrus pairings. And the Villa Calvi experience never ends at the table or the pool: boat trips in the Scandola Nature Reserve, picnics in Girolata, visits to the Balagne vineyards with the head sommelier, off-the-beaten-path hikes with a local guide, or simply an aperitif at Verso Sera, a must-visit spot by the bay four evenings a week.

Practical information :
To get there from Marseille, Air Corsica offers a direct flight to Calvi Sainte-Catherine Airport in just 55 minutes. The service is almost daily, with an average of two flights per day and departures staggered throughout the day, from the first flight around 8:50 am to the last around 19:15 pm, depending on the day.
As for The hotel is a 15-minute drive from the airport.
