Marseille hosts a new edition of the event from November 29th to December 6th. PriMed – The Mediterranean Festival in PicturesAn unmissable event dedicated to documentary and reportage, where social issues, memories, civic struggles, and personal stories from both shores intertwine. A true sounding board for Mediterranean realities, the festival offers each year a powerful panorama of films that illuminate, challenge, and question our perspective on this diverse region.
For one week, 25 documentaries selected from more than 500 works from 50 countries will be screened for free in Marseille. This unique festival, organized by the CMCA, highlights the voices of filmmakers who tell stories about their region, question current events, revisit historical periods, or give a voice to those who are too rarely heard. The themes addressed, from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to environmental struggles, including migration, youth, and the memory of wars, form a kaleidoscope of essential narratives, deeply rooted in our shared Mediterranean. PriMed 2025 – Press Kit.
PriMed is also a space for knowledge transfer. More than 3 high school students People from all over the Mediterranean participate every year, becoming jurors, debating films, and developing their civic perspective. This rare generational dialogue makes the festival a vibrant space for exchange and mutual understanding.
Open to the general public and professionals alike, PriMed transforms the city into a veritable laboratory of images and ideas, with screenings, meetings, masterclasses, and an awards ceremony bringing together filmmakers, journalists, and partners. It's an invitation to explore the Mediterranean in a new light: through cinema, engagement, and emotion.
