Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2026 

From July 8 to 11, 2026, the Yacht Club of Monaco will host the 13th^e The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is an international event dedicated to sustainable propulsion technologies. Supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, UBS, BMW, and SBM Offshore, the event also brings together major players in the sector, including Safe Harbor, Oceanco, Ferretti Group, Azimut | Benetti Group, and Lürssen. This year, 56 teams from 22 countries are expected, including teams from the United States (to prepare for their participation in 2027), China, and India. Conceived as a true innovation laboratory, the challenge is structured around four complementary categories. The Energy Class allows teams to optimize electric and hybrid technologies on identical hulls to compare performance and energy management under real-world conditions. The AI ​​Class, dedicated to autonomous prototypes, explores the integration of artificial intelligence into navigation through systems capable of assisting piloting and maneuvering.

The SeaLab Class serves as a floating laboratory dedicated to emerging energies and new energy architectures that are still largely untapped in the maritime sector. Finally, the Open Sea Xperience showcases CE-certified zero-emission boats, already operational and ready to sail, offering a concrete glimpse into the future of recreational boating. Beyond endurance races, speed events, and slaloms, the event brings together students, industry professionals, and researchers for conferences, technology demonstrations, and open-source exchanges. The Corporate Mentoring Programme and the Job Forum further strengthen the links between training and recruitment, supporting the sector's energy transition.
