Since 1 September, French Tech Aix-Marseille Région Sud has a new general manager. She is Diane Renaud, previously in charge of national programmes and partnerships. Her Media Management studies at Kedge Business School and her career since then have familiarised her with the region’s economy and development challenges.French Tech Aix-Marseille has been given a stronger structuring role in the ecosystem. As general manager, Ms Renaud means to make it an essential part of the system, creating a regionwide network reaching far beyond Aix and Marseille to help entrepreneurs gain a firm foothold. As well as bringing in new members, she aims to grow the region’s start-ups until they are scale-ups, i.e. firms with good potential for international growth, creating jobs and value. Her four main focuses will be financing, talents, international and impact (inclusive, sustainable technology). Her efforts to make French Tech better known to the region’s players and start-ups include events and initiatives like the Innovation Weeks (running until 10 November), Grand Bain (10 November, at Friche de la Belle-de-Mai) and the support programme French Tech DeepNum20.
With her experience and her new responsibilities, Diane Renaud looks like being an effective link between the region’s various innovation players.w
