Julia Maggio’s dream has come true. The optician and optometrist launched her eponymous brand this spring. The designs are dreamed up in Provence but the eyewear is made in Oyonnax, centre of the French eyewear industry in the Jura. As well as four models of sunglasses in four different colours and three optical frames, she’s reviving the 19th-century fashion for pinces-nez: glasses with no arms, to be hung around the neck as a decorative item. The necklaces are in natural silk decorated with 23 beads plated with yellow, pink or silver god. A lovely and very useful accessory.
