Sometimes he photographs the majestic linear beauty of trees in a forest, sometimes it’s the movement of water or clouds sliding over mountains. Jeffrey Conley is part of the great tradition of landscape photography in the United States; a movement which began in the first half of the 20th century by leading lights such as Ansel Adams, with his black and white images of Yosemite National Park. From immense horizons to minute details, the American photographer took great care to develop his original prints himself, giving them a velvety smoothness in myriad shades of grey.
