Jeu de couleurs complémentaires entre la passerelle et la nature.
PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
This project is in the heart of the Corsica Regional Park. Below are the Gorges de la Richiusa, a veritable natural gem that has become a paradise for canyoning enthusiasts. The project consists of replacing a footbridge damaged by time and the river’s many floods. The idea is to raise the two existing stone abutments so that floodwater passes beneath them. A simple Corten steel deck sits on these two foundations; sheets were folded and welded to create a rigid U-shape serving as deck, railing, and handrail. The colour of the deck is reminiscent of autumn tree foliage and echoes the signage already found in the park. The architectural gesture is minimal, a line like a hyphen. Simple, discreet architecture that forms a lasting part of the landscape.
The jury’s opinion : What did the first man do to cross the river? He knocked over a tree trunk. So, here we go back to basics. Namely, a beam that, by design, shape, and material, meets the technical constraints and even becomes an archetype of a footbridge.
