Good Californian vibes
By Eve Chatelet
“Become the best version of yourself” is sparkling Val Khal’s mantra. She aims to import the latest “healthy” trends and good Californian vibes to Monaco and the South of France. The young woman knows a thing or two about new things that are all the rage in Los Angeles because she spent the last seven years there developing broadcasts focusing on travel, cars, and the latest wellness concepts. “After building a career as a journalist and a presenter on French television, I moved to California, the cradle of all these holistic trends that stimulate both body and mind. I discovered many variations of yoga, micro-nutrition, and biohacking.” Finding herself in this tremendously positive environment, she switched from TV screen to the Pilates studio, training in Beverly Hills. The COVID-19 crisis changed everything, and the young woman returned to France, settling first in Saint-Tropez and then Monaco, where she developed her own Rebel Karma method. “It’s a fusion of several styles, notably Yoga Sculpt, Power Yoga and Vinyasa, coupled with using weights and accessories. Pilates postures, cardio, martial arts movements, stretching and active meditation… The result is extremely comprehensive. “The idea is to burn calories in a fun and inspiring way, to the beat of an up-to-the-minute playlist. You let go, sweat, and push back your limits! The results? Detox, toning, weight loss, and boosting metabolism. Though these lessons are offered as private coaching or at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo currently, Val’s ambition is to open her own premises. She envisions more than just a studio: a place where you can truly experience Made in California well-being…
