“Riviera business leaders on the alert!”

In the light of what happened in Toulouse, where the airport was sold to a foreign group without any consultation with local stakeholders, the Côte d'Azur's businesses mobilised to prevent the same thing happening here. From February 2015, with the support of numerous entrepreneurs I began to alert public opinion to this vital issue of the sale of Nice Côte d’Azur Airport. The UPE06, which speaks for the Côte d’Azur's businesses, has been meeting with the local authorities concerned and Nice Côte d’Azur CCI, while at the same time making contact with potential investors. Where do we stand now that the Macron Law has been passed and therefore offers can now be invited? The government has heard what local shareholders and Riviera businesses have to say. In this final stage of compiling the conditions of the call for offers, local shareholders will be participating and thus guaranteeing that our region's interests are taken into consideration. The UPE06 will continue to act the watchdog, for although local businesses may indeed put forward bids, their priority is above all to ensure regional interests are preserved and that the airport continues to function in the general interest.
