« In Search of Madame Cézanne » is an artistic investigation aroundHortense Fiquet, wife and model of Paul Cezanne but also muse of Gertrude Stein. Outside the norms of femininity, posing before her time the question of non-gender, Hortense Fiquet is an astonishing figure, unjustly ignored by the history of art and who deserves to be discovered. Contemporary artists propose a reinterpretation of the portraits of Madame Cezanne and explore the place she holds in the life and work of Cezanne, but also the major influence that her portraits had on modernity.
