The Marro family hand down their love of good food through the generations! From grandfather baker Jeannot to restaurateur Marcel, and now daughter Karine Marro-Guffanti. Having run Marcel Bistrot Chic, the Jeannot bakery and Grand Balcon in old Nice, she now also runs La Vela with a flourish. This ‘Family Chic’ address promises a sunny interlude synonymous with family get-togethers and good food, somewhere between Mykonos and Nice. On the menu: Giga buratta, Niçoise salad, baby purple artichoke salad with Parmesan shavings, Niçoise-style beef tartare with sun-dried tomatoes, seared tuna with carrots or panisses and seafood. Tapas and Mediterranean combinations to share, or not! And for dessert, champagne tiramisu, an impressive fruit platter or a homemade Sundae on a deckchair with your feet in the water.
