If you're strolling around Noailles this weekend, head to 14A rue d'Aubagne: this is where El Barrio Marsella cultivates a warm and diverse atmosphere, somewhere between street food, a coffee counter, and a Latin American grocery store. At the helm, Juan Pulgarin Sanchez, a Colombian chef who has worked in Parisian kitchens, offers a joyful patchwork of specialties from all over Latin America. You can bite into golden empanadas, discover stuffed arepas, vibrant ceviches, or even a taco of the day that changes according to your mood. A special mention goes to the pandebono, a small, soft bite made with cheese and cassava flour, straight from Bogota. But El Barrio isn't just a gourmet spot: it's also a neighborhood grocery store full of gems to take home. Flours from Venezuela, hot Peruvian sauces, artisanal mezcal... Each aisle takes you further on the journey. When it comes to coffee, Juan doesn't do things by halves: he roasts the beans imported from Colombia himself under his Palo Blanco brand, to offer a clean-tasting espresso, to enjoy on-site or to go. Finally, El Barrio is a lively, open place that also caters for your private events. A hybrid venue just the way we like them, rooted in its neighborhood but resolutely turned towards the world.
