Galerie Max Hetzler

  • Berlin to Paris

The world-famous Max Hetzler gallery in Berlin is 40 years old this year. In May it marked the event by opening a gallery in Paris, in a 17th-century building not far from the Centre Pompidou. Max Hetzler's faithful assistant Samia Saouma, who runs the place, brought the work of Neo-Expressionist Albert Oehlen to Paris for the opening exhibition. This anniversary year Max Hetzler has also opened two more galleries in West Berlin, showing his stable of artists in rotation. Among them are Mona Hatoum, Jeff Koons, Vera Lutter, Ernesto Neto, Bridget Riley, Thomas Struth and Christopher Wool. In the Paris gallery you can discover the work of sculptor Toby Ziegler until 17 January.
