Until September 26th, at nightfall, all over Marseille, and for the first time, in La Ciotat, you can celebrate the 30th anniversary of the city's oldest free festival: Ciné Plein-Air Marseille! This year, more than ever, the screen is adorned with its finest finery: lights, laughter, shared moments..., to make this edition a powerful, unifying event for everyone.`
30 years is no small feat: 30 years of diversity, rigor, openness, and popular culture, in the heart of an atypical, colorful, and vibrant city. A must-see event that continues to forge connections between aesthetics, locations, and audiences with the same passion as the early days. This year, we remain true to our spirit while exploring new horizons: New iconic locations to discover, an increased presence of short films, a vibrant creative space, valuable collaborations with committed partners, a varied, demanding program designed for everyone that celebrates the diversity of perspectives. Together, the team and partners have concocted a selection of films that bring people together and challenge them. Free, traveling, festive and always accessible, Ciné Plein-Air Marseille offers an eclectic program every summer: cult films, rare works by authors, documentaries, animated films, film concerts... in original version, in French, for all tastes and all ages. Ciné Plein-Air Marseille defends an open and joyfully plural cinephilia, in the image of the city it loves and which it travels. New in 2025: This year, La Ciotat, cradle of cinema, joins the adventure with 5 event screenings (the 130th anniversary of La Gaumont).
In total, around 36 screenings will take place in 25 emblematic locations, including four new sites hosting Ciné Plein-Air Marseille for the first time.
The Third-Lab of Transitions
The Marseille School of Fine Arts (Art Méditerranée campus)
The Sea Theater in La Ciotat
The Palais Lumière in La Ciotat
Ciné Plein-Air Marseille is, above all, a collective adventure, driven by loyal partners and an intergenerational audience, gathered every evening around a screen, stories to experience together and collective emotions.
