The Musée Réattu is dedicating the largest exhibition of her career to Béatrice Helg, bringing together more than seventy works in a minimalist scenography. Unpublished photographs and emblematic pieces, often large-format, retrace nearly thirty-five years of creation and cover major cycles such as Théâtres de la lumière, Esprit froissé, Crépuscule, Éclats, Cosmos, Résonance, and Natura. Since the 1980s, the Swiss photographer has developed a unique vision of photographic staging. Rather than subscribing to realism or narrative, she develops a visual language that unites space, matter, and light, earning her international recognition. Her references range from Russian constructivism to the musical avant-garde, from architecture to opera scenography.
In her studio, she creates veritable installations where painting, sculpture, and theater meet. Recycled materials and invented materials become the medium for a lighting that constitutes the founding element of her art. Each image then reveals an ephemeral architecture emerging from silence, a world oscillating between shadow and light, imbued with spirituality and poetry.
