Imagine a dinner party in a sumptuous setting. Suddenly, the waiters raise their voices and begin to play classical arias. For the sixth year, the West End Hotel is transforming its restaurant, Le Siècle, into a surprise opera house. Every first Friday of the month until next March, opera singers will slip in among the staff and appear between courses.
Soprano Laurie Jauffret, a graduate of the Nice Conservatory, and tenor Gilles San Juan, seen in season 8 of The Voice, perform in this Art Nouveau setting with an Art Deco glass roof and red velvet benches, which is none other than the first hotel built on the Promenade des Anglais. Thrills guaranteed.
