You're not just booking a dinner. You're booking a place, a light, a suspended moment.
For the past seven years, the Unusual Dinners They are reinventing the gastronomic experience in Provence. The principle is simple yet unique: inviting chefs to cook in sites usually closed to the public or rarely accessible, transformed for one evening into ephemeral restaurants.
For this 2026 edition, the journey promises to be particularly spectacular. From the pink salt marshes of Salin-de-Giraud to the cliffs of Cassis, from a gypsum quarry overlooking Marseille to a hydroelectric power station in the heart of the Durance valley, guests are invited to discover Provence in a different way, through its landscapes, its heritage and those who bring them to life.
Under the artistic direction of Emmanuel Perrodin, the event continues its mission: to tell the story of a region through cuisine. Each dinner pairs a chef with a specific location, drawing inspiration from it to create a unique menu. It's a sensitive way to reveal the richness of the Bouches-du-Rhône, far removed from conventional postcard images.
The 2026 program brings together around twenty chefs representative of theincredible regional gastronomic vitalityEstablished figures like Éric Cornilleau, a Marseille institution at Les Arcenaulx, rub shoulders with a particularly inspiring new generation. These include Samia Benazzouz on the Digue du Large in Marseille, Louise Perrone, a rising star of the current culinary scene, Lisa Desforges amidst a sunflower field at Domaine des Diables, and Pavel Hug in the intimate, mineral setting of Mas de la Pyramide in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
Beyond the chefs, it's the settings that truly make the event magical. A long table set amidst the vineyards facing Cap Canaille. Dinner atop the Grand Puech with a view of Sainte-Victoire. An evening among the salt flats of the Camargue. A meal in a stone quarry at sunset. Here, the landscape becomes an ingredient in its own right.
Each edition sells out within days. The concept appeals to both gourmets and lovers of Provence, drawn to this unique way of experiencing the region. It's an experience where cuisine interacts with the elements, where producers meet guests, and where each evening becomes a cherished travel memory.
One thing is certain: this summer again, the most beautiful table in Provence will not be found in a restaurant.
