From November 17th to 23rd, the Mondrian Cannes is organizing its first Art Week in collaboration with the République des Arts association. Seven artists from the French Riviera will take over the hotel, from the lobby to the bar and restaurant, for an immersive exhibition under the theme "The Journey".
The idea explores the sensory imprints left by places: a color, a texture, a breath. Philippe Seguin shapes the earth like a farmer cultivates his soil, Hortense Garand-Vernaison creates intellectual and sensory "journeys," Holly Inkster works with Fauvist abstraction on large canvases where the presence of vegetation is suggested. For her part, Alison McCauley photographs the duality of the French Riviera between luminous brilliance and dark undercurrents, and Arnaud Pellissier shapes steel in a "minimalist Art Deco" style.
Each day, an artist is present to meet the public. Two daily events at the Mr. Nakamoto bar punctuate this week: Café des Arts from 16pm to 18pm with a dessert and hot drink option, and Afterwork from 18pm to 20pm with a cocktail inspired by the artist of the day.
The Mondrian affirms its commitment to placing art at the heart of the hotel experience and becoming a meeting place for artists, travelers and locals…
