In a world where everything is accelerating, the Hôtel de Gallifet in Aix-en-Provence invites you to take a deep breath. With the exhibition To acceleration and oblivionThe art center dedicates a new chapter to the vitality of the crafts, bringing together fifteen contemporary artisans and artists around the same dialogue: that of gesture, matter and time.

Curated by Morgane Baroghel-Crucq, a textile artisan and weaver, the exhibition highlights these creators who defy the logic of speed and mass production. Here, handwork becomes an act of resistance, know-how a living heritage, and slowness a poetic force. Ceramics, featherwork, lacquer, plant dyes, rye straw or jewelry Each work tells a story of the perseverance of the gesture and the intelligence of the material. We encounter the worlds of Emma Bruschi, exploring peasant know-how; Grégoire Scalabre, master of monumental porcelain; and Chloé Valorso, whose jewelry becomes contemporary talismans. Together, they affirm that the boundary between art and craft no longer exists. This exhibition, both sensitive and manifest, celebrates the passage of time and the memory of gestures. as an antidote to forgetfulness.
