For its 31st edition, the Marseille Open Air Cinema will set up its screens from June 30th to September 25th in 26 locations across the city, at nightfall and free of charge. Organized by the association Les Écrans du Sud, this 2026 edition features a decidedly eclectic program—cult films, arthouse cinema, animation, original versions—with around forty screenings throughout all the neighborhoods of Marseille.
Highlights include: a focus on Good Mothers » at the Mucem around nine films exploring the maternal figure, including El Sett by Marwan Hamed in preview and All about my mother by Almodóvar; Blow Up Antonioni's film projected at the Marseille History Museum; or even In fanfare by Emmanuel Courcol at the Guy Azaïs Garden.
New venues have been added to the route this year — Espace Mistral in L'Estaque, Parc du Grand Séminaire, Parc Borély — while Place du Refuge, the festival's historic home, hosts Erin Brockovich, alone against everyone.
This edition is also part of the Marseilles Summer program, with sessions by the sea at the Florence Arthaud Nautical Stadium or under the trees of the Mirabelle Park.
