As a child, she drew on the walls of her home in Romania. "So we'd hide them with posters," recalls the mischievous brunette with light eyes. By turns strong and sensitive, serious and playful, free but resolutely organized, Lucia Marcu charmingly combines the different facets of her personality. Yet, it's not herself she wants to highlight, far from it, but the thirty or so photographers, painters, and sculptors who have already joined the Martin Sauvage* gallery. Who, then, is the enigmatic Martin? "Not a parent or a partner... I just have a four-legged feline named that," the young woman says with a burst of laughter. Arriving on the Côte d'Azur at the age of 17, she became sales and customer service manager for a sector of Galeries Lafayette in Cap 3000. "I learned a lot there, but what always made me tick was art," says this hyperactive woman. After careful consideration, she decided to leave everything behind to launch her online gallery at the end of 2017. "Since then, I've been organizing tailor-made events and in June I'm launching a 100% tax-free rental service for professionals." Her motto: to champion local creation internationally, bringing it to Paris, London, Berlin, and New York. "I have to have a crush on the work, but also the artists' personalities. I like anything that exudes happiness but also the wacky, the bizarre." And to quote Oscar Wilde: "You should always aim for the moon, because even if you fail, you'll land among the stars."
