Don't touch his spot.

Guillaume Laparade

Right into the scenery

Here's someone who's quickly become a household name in Marseille. His idea? To offer villas, apartments, shops, and Provençal farmhouses as sets for audiovisual professionals. A meeting with a location scout with a big heart.

Don't touch his spot.

“My job is the art of finding the invisible,” explains Guillaume Laparade, a former advertising and television production manager turned self-employed entrepreneur determined to showcase our real estate. To this end, he seeks out homeowners throughout the region willing to host film shoots. Having arrived in Marseille in 2020, he founded Spot Agency two years ago, convinced he plays a vital role in connecting production companies eager for Provençal settings with the local population he holds so dear: “Nothing replaces someone who was born here. I love taking spontaneous walks and meeting a Marseillais who tells me the story of a neighborhood. These conversations allow me to refine my perspective, better understand the area, and know where to dig next.”

His experience and keen eye allow him to unearth hidden gems that perfectly match his clients' expectations: "My background as a location manager allows me to think of every detail. Take Roucas-Blanc, for example: the villas there are magnificent, but some will never be able to accommodate a film crew because they're located in narrow streets where trucks can't get through." Once the contract is signed, this Toulouse native makes a point of reassuring the owners as much as possible, who are happy to see the world of cinema descend upon their homes, but sometimes surprised by the number of people involved: "You have to be transparent and respectful of the privacy of the properties. I maintain a direct and very personal relationship, both with the productions and with the people who open their homes to us."
