Franta, a permanent space at the Vence Museum

Locals know him, but Franta's renown has yet to match the true scope of his work. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1930 and living in Vence since 1958, the artist explores the theme of the body through the broken lines of his drawings and a flesh rendered in deep, existential colors. While the Vence museum is dedicating a temporary exhibition to the painter and sculptor, entitled "Franta, the Human Condition," the artist, whose human figures are like bursts of life, now also has a dedicated space on the third floor of the castle, following the donation of some thirty works. These paintings and drawings cry out the need to resist, to strive to remain free.

Permanent Franta space + Exhibition "Franta, the human condition" until May 24, 2026. Adult admission: €6
