In the spring of 2026, the art center Gallifet dedicates an exceptional exhibition to the photographer Francois Halard, bringing together more than a hundred images, some of which are being shown to the public for the very first time. Dividing his time between Paris, the south of France and Greece, the artist develops a body of work deeply nourished by the history and memory of the places he travels through, particularly around the Mediterranean.
His sensitive gaze leads us, by turns, to the luminous landscapes of Greece and Italy, to the studios of major modernist artists, to the gardens of Giverny, and even to the interior of a house in Arles. These are all spaces imbued with soul, which François Halard captures with great delicacy, composing a visual journey where the quest for beauty unfolds with a singular poetry.
