Ten years after his first exhibition at Eva Vautier, the visual artist – a graduate of Villa Arson and then Le Fresnoy – returns with a project based on his latest film, CatenaeThe term refers to a series of craters caused by asteroid impacts, and thus the artist catapults us into a setting where materials have been stained, torn, and melted. For what particularly interests Pugnaire are the places where the works are produced and then presented: the studio and the exhibition space. In this dynamic solo show, the process of fabrication, transformation, and destruction of the artwork is projected into the exhibition space itself.
