Acrobats taking flight in Encagnane, a DJ set up behind a fruit stall in Place Richelme, a "supermarket" where you can shop for preconceived ideas, or luminous spheres that light up under the gaze of King René: this autumn, the Aix Biennale Clearly forget about the very sensible expo mode.
From September 12th to November 14th, 105 artistic proposals overflowing from museums to occupy squares, gardens, streets and neighborhoods, with Italy as the common thread and 95% of the programming free of charge.
Among the events to mark on your calendar: the lively performances of Collectif XY , Dal mercato alla piazza on September 26th, a journey from the market to aperitivo through a series of DJ sets; Les Promesses de l'aube with Chloé Delaume; and then the Pavillon Noir , which shines a spotlight on Italian dance. In mid-October, the Tangible festival shakes up the design world, notably with La Supérette des idées reçues (The Supermarket of Received Ideas ), a mock supermarket where the products primarily serve to debunk misinformation.
And above all, keep the evenings of October 30th and 31st free: for the opening of CHRONIQUES , eight digital artworks will take over the city center and the Encagnane district. From 19 pm to 23 pm, Globoscope will transform the city into a luminous constellation, while interactive projections, monumental installations, and performances will playfully blur the lines between art, technology, and spectacle. In November, the France-Italy match will even be decided by the art of oratory, before Italy takes center stage with a flourish and a finale featuring eleven saxophones in the courtyard of City Hall.
